Who We Are
We are a body of believers in Jesus Christ who is the divine Son of God and our Lord and Savior. We are not affiliated with any religious denomination. Each church of Christ congregation is self-governed and independent of other congregations, while remaining in fellowship with them.
The leadership of the local congregation is made up of men who serve as elders (shepherds) based upon the Biblical qualifications found in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. Deacons serve under the leadership of the elders, assisting them in a variety of ways to maintain congregational functionality. Deacons are also men chosen based upon Biblical qualifications. These qualifications are revealed in I Timothy 3:8-13.
The minister (preacher/evangelist) is a man chosen by the local congregation to serve in the areas of preaching, teaching, evangelism and other areas of ministry. In some congregations the minister assumes a dual role by being appointed to the eldership and serves as preacher/elder.
